Through the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program and the Innovation Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Pettinger Foundation, the Chamber is proud to announce that we have awarded a total of $30,000 to the AISD class of 2021 and have impacted the lives of ten graduating seniors.
The Greater Arlington Chamber is proud to partner with the Arlington Independent School District to provide a number of educational initiatives through our Partners in Education (PIE) Program. One of the many ways the Chamber develops the community’s future is by investing in our youth. Our partnerships allow us to support the ambitions of Arlington ISD students by awarding scholarships.
Since its inception, our Chamber Scholarship Program has awarded $142,000 to graduating seniors in AISD to pursue higher education. Through this program, we are engaging the future leaders of our community. We encourage AISD students to think critically by researching their chosen career pathway and reflect upon how it will impact the community. We are proud to announce that, through additional funding, we were able to award two additional scholarships at $1,250 each.
The Chamber is also proud to partner with the Pettinger Foundation to offer the Innovation Scholarship Program. This program allows us to award AISD graduating seniors with a scholarship to obtain a four-year degree in science, engineering or mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington. Students are challenged to create a new product or solve a current problem that will advance their chosen career pathway and enrich the lives of humanity.
This year we had the distinct privilege of awarding $10,000 to an unbelievably deserving, not only with high honors, but an overall well-rounded, student who embodies the very purpose of this scholarship. He is set to attend UTA in the fall where he will enter as a junior on his way to a mechanical engineering degree. This young man just so happens to be one our American Dream Scholarship recipients as well, walking away with $15,000 in scholarship awards. Click here to see our surprise check presentation!
We would like to thank the Pettinger Foundation and the Arlington Independent School District for their continued partnerships. Our community is filled with bright and talented young individuals, and the Greater Arlington Chamber is honored to have the opportunity to help support their futures.
Please join us in recognizing our 2021 scholarship recipients. Our recipients will be attending a variety of top-notch colleges and universities including Tarrant County College Southeast, the University of Texas at Arlington, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Christian University, Texas A&M, Texas Tech University, the University of Chicago and the University of Southern California.
