Yaman Subei is known as an entrepreneur here in Arlington, but prior to getting into healthcare, he worked in accounting and consulting. He earned his CPA license at 22 years of age, and for over 10 years, he worked his way up in the public accounting space. After reaching a Senior Manager position on the Investment Management team at Deloitte & Touche, he set his sights elsewhere, becoming a business owner.
Beginning with an investment company, Yaman soon found his passion in the healthcare industry. Growing up in a family of health practitioners, he knew that he had a love for serving others and great respect for those who work in healthcare. “I think very highly of medical practitioners, but I did not see myself as one, I have always been on the finance and investment side of things,” says Yaman.
In 2016, Yaman began his entrepreneurial journey by launching a “New Kind of Urgent Care Clinic”, Urgentology Care. He opened the first location in Viridian, Arlington TX. This state-of-the-art urgent care offers an elevated experience with high-quality medical care. Urgentology also offers occupational medicine partnerships with large and small companies to provide employees with the best quality healthcare in one place.
Subei said, “I fell in love with having my own business and building a reputable brand from the ground up.” He continued his business ventures by launching Cure Allergy Clinic in 2020 with his business partner and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Waseem Imam, who is Board-Certified in Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. Yaman said that when he was approached by Dr. Imam with his vision for Cure Allergy Clinic, he could see their values and ambitions align. The team at Cure Allergy Clinic diagnose and treat short-term and chronic allergies and asthma.
Since Cure Allergy opened in the midst of COVID-19 lockdowns, Yaman and Dr. Imam will be celebrating the clinic’s three-year anniversary on May 19th with the help of the Chamber. Join us for a ribbon cutting and get information on their most recent service expansion, Cure Weight Loss Clinic. This new program is all about healthy living and curating a weight loss journey tailored to each patient.
During the Pandemic, Yaman and his partners at Urgentology began working on a new business, Glo & Glam Medspa & Skin Care, which opened in August of 2021. This spa is a medical practice with board-certified medical practitioners who offer a wide range of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, microneedling, PRP, hair restoration, hormone replacement therapy, etc. They also offer various grades of facials and chemical peels. All of the products that they use and sell in the MedSpa are medical-grade and can only be sold by medical practitioners.
When asked what it means to be a small business owner, Subei said, “There is a great sense of accomplishment just seeing that vision and turning it into reality, that was new to me. I love building a brand that has a strong footprint in the community. It just gives me a great sense of pride.” He says that being resilient and nimble will help you succeed as a small business and, “The beauty of being small allows you to adapt to the economic and political environment. You have to be dynamic, creative and do things better.”
Yaman and his entire team of business partners, staff, and doctors are continuing the legacy of this trio of businesses. They have now expanded Urgentology Care and Glo & Glam Medspa to Colleyville locations. “At Urgentology Care and Cure Allergy Clinic, we help people feel better. At Glo & Glam and Cure Weight Loss Clinic, we help them feel their best”, Subei added. We are so excited to see how far this empire expands and how many lives all three of these medical practices change.
