Pathfinders and JPMorgan Chase have built a long-standing partnership centered on advancing financial stability and economic mobility for families in the Arlington community. Pathfinders, a nonprofit, empowers individuals and families to find their path to social and financial well-being through coaching, education, and resource navigation. JPMorganChase, a for-profit, supports local economies by investing in community progress and creating opportunities for financial growth for consumers, small businesses institutions.
Since forming their partnership in 2015, both organizations have combined their strengths to expand access to financial resources, education and opportunities for the long-term success of families in Tarrant County.
The partnership began through financial capability work with the Asset Funders Network. Sharing a mutual commitment to improving financial health for individuals and families, their collaboration grew from a shared belief that financial stability is foundational to achieving economic mobility and long-term self-sufficiency.
“We are like-minded in our desire to help families achieve financial stability,” Missi Cowart, Director of Development at Pathfinders, said. “Our mutual passion for this cause led to a natural partnership that allows both Pathfinders and JPMorganChase to expand our reach in the community.”
Over the years, the partnership continues to grow as they find new ways to collaborate. JPMorganChase team members volunteer at Pathfinders’ Family Fun Engagement Nights, where they teach financial topics requested by families, such as homeownership. They also volunteer to lead small-group financial coaching sessions designed for low- to moderate-income individuals. In 2018, JPMorganChase funded a three-year asset-building regional model to promote savings and credit as essential financial assets. Most recently, JPMorganChase financially supports Pathfinders’ three-year Economic Mobility Pilot. Through the Economic Mobility Pilot, both organizations are exploring innovative strategies to address poverty and strengthen economic resilience within the community.
Both organizations are committed to advancing second chance employment opportunities, and Pathfinders participates in the Second Chance Business Coalition founded by JPMorganChase. This shared focus allows them to help individuals rebuild their financial foundations and reenter the workforce with confidence. In fall of 2024, both organizations collaborated on an article in the Fort Worth Report to raise awareness about second chance employment and the importance of financial capability for individuals reentering society after incarceration.
The goal of this partnership is to create pathways to economic mobility by equipping individuals and families with the tools needed for financial stability. Their work is grounded in the belief that financial education, access to resources and supportive relationships can help break cycles of poverty. By working together, Pathfinders and JPMorganChase are expanding their reach and providing more individuals with the opportunity to achieve sustainable independence.
“This partnership is making a measurable impact right here in Arlington,” Cowart said.
JPMorganChase supports Pathfinders’ financial empowerment programs offered locally at Arlington Life Shelter and Taste Arlington. In 2024, 90% of financial capability clients reported they were better able to manage their finances, including increasing savings, reducing debt and setting financial goals.
Pathfinders has benefitted from this partnership through funding, volunteer support and increased visibility. Cowart said their partnership with JPMorganChase is a great example of how supporting a nonprofit can go far beyond financial support. The experiences and perspective of a financial institution who supports a mutual cause enriches their work.

“A financial institution like JPMorganChase who turns corporate responsibility into true community investment and wholehearted support is a strong match to our mission,” she said. “Together, we are eliminating poverty from our community by empowering individuals and families to find their path to social and financial well-being. We are sincerely grateful to be in such a collaborative, supportive partnership with JPMorganChase.”
