Last month, Hagar’s Heart partnered with CAS curate.admire.style, to bring a Pop-Up shop to people who have found refuge at SafeHaven Tarrant County after experiencing Domestic Violence. This was a wonderful opportunity for women staying in the shelter to have a personal shopping experience and pick out a few new items for free.
Hagar’s Heart is a Nonprofit Organization that supports Domestic Violence survivors while helping them rediscover that they deserve be seen and loved properly. Through this mission, Hagar’s Heart came up with the idea to create Pop-Up shops at local shelters. These Pop-Up events allow women who have been through a rough few months, years or even decades to take a moment and choose something for themselves. For some, choosing an outfit might mean nothing, but for these women, this could be the first time in a long time that they have been able to control something in their lives.
When asked about the Pop-Up event, SafeHaven said, “We will never be able to say thank you enough to Hagar’s Heart for their never-ending support of Domestic Violence survivors in our shelters. Finding ways to bring joy to families in the shelter is so important to us at SafeHaven, and we are so thankful to our incredible partners for making this special day happen!”
Hagar’s Heart would like to thank CAS, Twisted Chicks, The Side Door Boutique, and Winton and Waits, who donate their leftover tagged items to the organization, as they close out each fashion season.
As a Chamber, we are thrilled to see such a large partnership come together to make the Arlington community stronger. It is truly beautiful to see CAS giving back to the community in such an important way and we cannot wait for what Hagar’s Heart has planned next!
