The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center has been a staple in the Arlington community for many years. Operating out of the University of Texas at Arlington Campus, TMAC delivers hands-on business management, technology, and operations solutions to a wide range of businesses, including manufacturing, distribution, logistics, construction, health care and government (according to the City of Arlington). Now TMAC and the Arlington Economic Development Corporation have partnered to establish the new Strategic Solutions Fund.
The goal of the new Strategic Solutions Fund is to help local Arlington businesses involved in manufacturing, wholesale trade, transportation and warehousing, and scientific research and development services expand their profitability and accelerate their growth. In order to meet these two goals, the fund will:
- Identify challenges, inefficiencies and barriers to expanding growth;
- Find strategic solutions to solving said barriers;
- Helping to cover some of the costs associated with the aforementioned solutions.
Arlington businesses with 51-250 employees are eligible for up to $10,000 in grants to help accelerate growth and profitability. Businesses with less than 50 employees are eligible for up to $5,000 in grants. Again, eligible businesses must be involved in manufacturing, wholesale trade, transportation and warehousing, and scientific research and development services.
