The Arlington Civic Engagement Institute, a program of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce, was named a finalist for the Best Civic Engagement Program in the 2025 Citizens Awards by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
“Being recognized on the national stage by the U.S. Chamber Foundation is a tremendous honor for Arlington and our Chamber,” President & CEO Michael Jacobson said. “The Arlington Civic Engagement Institute reflects our deep belief that strong communities are built when citizens understand how their city works and how they can make a difference.”
This prestigious awards program recognizes the most innovative and impactful initiatives that leverage a company’s talent, resources and expertise to improve communities.
The Arlington Civic Engagement Institute (ACEI) is designed to strengthen civic literacy and leadership. The program provides participants with firsthand insight into Arlington’s public institutions and empowers them to engage thoughtfully in local decision-making.
“When citizens understand how local government operates, they can participate more effectively and make informed decisions that strengthen our community,” Dr. Victoria Farrar-Myers, Course Instructor, said. “The Arlington Civic Engagement Institute gives people the tools and confidence to turn their passion for our city into action.”
The winners of the 2025 Citizens Awards will be announced during the U.S. Chamber Foundation’s Business Solves Conference on October 28, 2025. Meet all of this year’s finalists here. Learn more about the awards program here. Learn more about ACEI here.
