Arlington is the American Dream City because we invest in our residents and the future of our community. Arlington’s new EnVision Center is one of the many ways the City commits itself to providing residents with opportunities to succeed.
Arlington recently became the 39th city in the US and the 4th city in Texas with an officially designated EnVision center. Designation from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is critical component of HUD Secretary Ben Carson’s EnVision Center initiative. With this designation, the Arlington EnVision Center can offer a more holistic approach by connecting HUD-assisted families with resources.
“The Center will assist Arlington Housing Authority clients and city residents, and we look forward to providing more resources for our low-income families to help break the chain of poverty in our city, said Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams, “I want to thank HUD and Secretary Ben Carson for supporting Arlington and empowering our families with opportunities to improve their economic outlook.”
Arlington’s new EnVision Center is a major milestone for workforce development that focuses on creating self-sufficiency. Anyone in the community can visit the center to receive financial and educational guidance through job training, workshops and classes.
“EnVision Centers are a way to connect local resources with the people who need them the most. From job training to financial counseling, vital services will be provided that will have an unimaginable impact on the lives of the people being helped,” said Benjamin DeMarzo, HUD Assistant Deputy Secretary for Field Policy and Management.
