The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals is happy to announce applications are open for the third year of the IMPACT Mentorship Program. This program offers a unique opportunity for Arlington young professionals to connect with established Greater Arlington Chamber members and cultivate meaningful connections, gain valuable insights, and foster personal and professional growth. The 2024 program will run from February to July with the option to continue through December.

The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, known as YP for short, builds business and community leaders through bonding, education and service throughout our community. 

Be the IMPACT Mentor: For seasoned professionals eager to make a lasting impact on the next generation of leaders, becoming a mentor in the IMPACT Mentorship Program is a fulfilling opportunity. Mentors play a crucial role in guiding and supporting mentees, sharing their wealth of knowledge and helping them navigate the complexities of their chosen fields. Applications to become a mentor include outlining your expertise, industry experience, and commitment to fostering the growth of young professionals.

Embark on the Mentorship Journey as an IMPACT Mentee: As a young professional seeking guidance and mentorship, joining the IMPACT Mentorship Program as a mentee can be a game-changer for your career. Mentees have the chance to gain insights from experienced mentors, receive personalized advice, and expand their professional networks. To become a mentee, the application includes expressing your career goals, areas of interest, and the specific skills or knowledge you hope to acquire during the mentorship program. 

Selection & Pairings: The selection process ensures that each mentee is paired with a mentor who aligns with their aspirations and can provide tailored guidance. Mentor-mentee pairings will be carefully curated based on the information provided in these forms, and the results will be announced in late January. 

Please Share: We encourage you to share the Mentor Interest form with any Chamber member eager to make an IMPACT and become a YP mentor.

2024 Program Overview:

• January – Application deadline (1/15/24) and pairings announced
• February – Begin meeting with your Mentee/Mentor!
• March – IMPACT Lunch with all Mentee/Mentor pairings (date TBD)
• April – Continue meeting with your Mentee/Mentor
• May – IMPACT Lunch with all Mentee/Mentor pairings (date TBD) and IMPACT Mentor/Mentee survey #1 (emailed)
• June – IMPACT Mentor/Mentee survey #2 (emailed)
• July – Final IMPACT Lunch with all Mentee/Mentor pairings (date TBD) and Final Evaluation Survey (emailed)

We also highly encourage you to participate in our YP events during the IMPACT program.

• YP Jabber & Java – 2nd Friday* of every month from 9-10:30am – Grow your network of young professionals while visiting a different Arlington location every month.

• YP Mind Meld – 2nd Wednesday of every other month from 2-3pm – Discuss pertinent topics like saying no, imposter syndrome and managing up on Zoom with other YPers.

• YP Book Club – 4th Friday of every other month from 9-10am – Unpack opinions, viewpoints and lessons learned from a predetermined personal or professional development book (see specific event on Chamber calendar for details).
