The City of Dalworthington Gardens had a historic year in 2016, and is busy cultivating for growth in 2017 and beyond. During the weekend of June 10th, 2016 the City hosted a number of events to commemorate the 80th Anniversary Celebration, including an “Old Timer’s Dinner”, the DWG Dash 1 mile fun run & 5k, a City vs. City softball tournament, as well as live music, and a movie in “The Gardens” Park.
Citizens and business owners of Dalworthington Gardens benefit from the City’s low tax rate and exceptional public services. The comprehensive Public Safety Organization (Police, Fire, EMS) offers citizens and business owners a safe city to live, work and do business with unwavering emergency response time of under two minutes. Recreational opportunities are also plentiful in “The Gardens” as the City boasts a 28 acre park that includes a playground, a pavilion complete with outdoor grill, walking and running trails, a baseball/softball field, and scenic views centered around historic A.H. “Pappy” Elkins Lake. Dalworthington Gardens truly is a “Rural Oasis in the Heart of the Metro-Plex”.
By establishing a Strategic Vision for Dalworthington Gardens, the Mayor and City Council are working hard to develop a prosperous future while fostering an economic environment that celebrates the City’s history of being one of only five locations in Texas established under President Roosevelt’s homestead program.
